Celebrating a 10-Year Work Anniversary on the Legend Lady
We recently had the pleasure of hosting a special celebration for Sarah, who was celebrating her 10-year work anniversary. A group of nine colleagues joined her for an unforgettable day on the Legend Lady, skippered by Gary and Julia.
We met the group at Hamble Marina at 11:45 am, where the day began with a boat tour and a safety briefing to ensure everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience. Once the briefing was complete, it was time to enjoy drinks and snacks. Julia offered a choice of prosecco or bucks fizz, and the group indulged in a tower of pastries. As one of the team followed a vegan diet, we made sure to provide vegan tiffin, as well as vegan-friendly crisps and nuts to cater to all dietary needs.
Our destination for the day was the Isle of Wight, and we set sail across the Solent. Guests explored various areas on the boat, with some relaxing on the comfortable indoor sofas, others enjoying the back deck sofa, and a few taking in the breathtaking views from the top deck and snapping selfies along the way.
After docking at Cowes Marina, the group disembarked to explore the Isle of Wight and grab lunch at one of the local restaurants.
When everyone returned to the boat, we began our return journey. With a few hours left before their dinner reservation, we took the opportunity to visit the historic forts around the island. Gary shared fascinating insights about the forts, including how some were once used as hotels but are no longer in use today.
The excitement didn’t stop there – each member of the group had the chance to take the helm and steer the boat under Gary’s guidance. They all did a fantastic job and quickly realised how challenging it can be to maintain a straight course!
As we neared the mainland, the mood relaxed. Some guests continued sipping prosecco, while others opted for a warming tea. The indoor space, with heating and the option to close off the back deck, offered a cosy refuge for everyone to unwind. A few returned to the back deck to enjoy the tranquil scenery and witness the stunning sunset.
We returned the group to Hamble Marina just in time for their dinner reservation at BananaWharf at 7 pm.
Sarah, the guest of honour, shared her thoughts: “We had an amazing charter day. Gary and Julia were lovely hosts and extremely knowledgeable. The snacks were delicious, the drinks were flowing, and it was a fantastic way to spend the afternoon. Plus, what an opportunity to be able to drive the boat!”
