What is Bareboat RIB Charter?
Bareboat RIB charter allows you to self-drive the boat, without a skipper or instructor on board. It’s effectively your boat for the day, without the costs and maintenance of boat ownership. Many of our RYA Powerboat Level 2 students take advantage of our discounted bareboat RIB charter price on completing their Level 2 course. This gives the opportunity to explore the Solent and its surrounding areas, whilst consolidating new skills independently. Others use Bareboat RIB Charter to enjoy one of the many events that take place each year on or around the Solent.
We also have a number of professional companies that charter our boats for a range of duties, including maritime survey work and recent support of the sailboat Artemis. Please note that you will require a valid RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate in order to book a Bareboat RIB Charter.
Ocean Sports Tuition has a fleet available for Bareboat RIB Charter ranging from 6.0m – 7.8m boats. All our RIBs are MCA coded to carry at least six people on board. They are ideally suited for family days out, charter, survey and photography work.
All boats have the ability to be lifted directly on or off ships due to lifting eyes fitted in the deck. As a result, they are ideal for commercial work boat duties.
The 6.8m RIBs are powered by brand new 2018 Suzuki fly by wire controlled, 200hp 4 stroke engines, which are very powerful and economical, whilst the 7.8m RIBs are powered by Mercury 250hp 4 stroke engines. All RIBs have the latest safety equipment including: Simrad VHF DSC radio, Simrad Charter Plotter, Flares, Fire Extinguishers and Life jackets ensuring the utmost comfort and safety for you and your party.
How Much Does it Cost?
Bareboat Charter prices are quoted from our base at Saxon Wharf Marina Southampton and are exclusive of VAT and fuel. We can arrange for delivery and collection anywhere in the Solent and the UK, as well as throughout Europe. Please phone or email for further information on bespoke packages. The boat will come fully fuelled, therefore we charge at the current MDL pump prices for any fuel consumed.
