WHAT IS A RIB SPEED BOAT?

The term ‘rib boat’ refers to a rigid inflatable boat. Inflatable rib boats are high performance, lightweight boats, constructed of a rigid hull, designed to be surrounded by large inflatable air tubes. The tubes are constructed from separate chambers, so if the tube is punctured, only a small part will deflate, making rib, rigid inflatable boats virtually unsinkable. Rib boats are powered by 1 or more outboard engines.

Ribcraft have many uses, including lifeboats, safety boats and crew transfer vessels, but they are also very popular with thrill seeking pleasure boaters wishing to get the adrenaline pumping, due to the high speeds that can be achieved in even small rib boats.

Our Ribcraft

Ocean Sports Charter has a fleet available for Bareboat Rib Charter ranging from 6.0m – 7.8m boats. All our ribs are MCA coded to carry at least six people on board. They are ideally suited for family days out, charter, survey and photography work.

All boats have the ability to be lifted directly on or off ships due to lifting eyes fitted in the deck. As a result, they are ideal for commercial work boat duties.

The 6.8m ribs are powered by brand new 2018 Suzuki fly by wire controlled,  200hp 4 stroke engines, which are very powerful and economical, whilst the 7.8m ribs are powered by Mercury 250hp 4 stroke engines. All ribs have the latest safety equipment including: Simrad VHF DSC radio, Simrad Charter Plotter, Flares, Fire Extinguishers and Life jackets ensuring the utmost comfort and safety for you and your party.

WHAT DOES THE CHARTER COST?

Bareboat Charter prices are quoted from our base at Saxon Wharf Marina Southampton and are exclusive of VAT and fuel. We can arrange for delivery and collection anywhere in the Solent and the UK, as well as throughout Europe. Please phone or email for further information on bespoke packages. The boat will come fully fuelled, therefore we charge at the current MDL pump prices for any fuel consumed.

6.0 meter Rib Charter - Cirrus: coded for 4

• Half Day = £263, Full Day = £315, 10 Day Pass = £2630

6.8 meter Rib charter - Still No Worries: coded for 8

• Half Day = £325, Full Day = £385, 10 Day Pass = £3250

7.8 meter Rib charter - Dark N Stormy: coded for 12

• Half Day = £399, Full Day = £450, 10 Day Pass = £3999

Multi day passes are valid for 3 years from date of purchase.  Days can be taken individually or in block bookings.
