Assisted Rib Charter

WHAT IS ASSISTED RIB CHARTER?

An assisted rib charter is when you are accompanied on your charter by one of our RYA MCA qualified skippers/instructors. The day is still up to you to plan and decide on where you want to explore but with the added security of having an expert at hand. This is ideal should you want additional advice or guidance when skippering the vessel or if you simply want to relax and hand the wheel to someone else for a while. Your rib and skipper/instructor will be available for the duration of your assisted charter and can do as much or as little as you would like including skippering, revising boating skills, assisting with moorings, rough weather handling etc.

Please note, it is not possible to provide this service for commercial rib charter.

WHAT IS A RIB SPEED BOAT?

The term ‘rib boat’ refers to a rigid inflatable boat. Inflatable rib boats are high performance, lightweight boats, constructed of a rigid hull, designed to be surrounded by large inflatable air tubes. The tubes are constructed from separate chambers, so if the tube is punctured, only a small part will deflate, making rib, rigid inflatable boats virtually unsinkable. Rib boats are powered by 1 or more outboard engines.

Ribcraft have many uses, including lifeboats, safety boats and crew transfer vessels, but they are also very popular with thrill seeking pleasure boaters wishing to get the adrenaline pumping, due to the high speeds that can be achieved in even small rib boats.

WHO IS THE CHARTER FOR?

An assisted charter is for anyone that has recently passed their RYA Powerboat Level 2 and wants a little more help before venturing solo. You will be the skipper of the boat, plan the day, but you have the assistance and back up of having a Skipper/Instructor on board with you to ask any questions.
