WHAT IS BAREBOAT MOTORBOAT CHARTER?
Bareboat Motorboat Charter allows you hire a motorboat to self-drive, without a skipper or instructor on board. It is effectively your boat for the day, without the costs and maintenance of boat ownership. After much demand from our RYA Day Skipper students, we have gained exclusive use of a great sports cruiser. This gives the opportunity to explore the Solent and its surrounding areas, whilst consolidating new skills independently.
Why not charter a bareboat motorboat to enjoy one of the many events that take place each year on or around the Solent? Please note that you will require a valid RYA Day Skipper Motorboat certificate to book a Bareboat Motor Boat Charter.
We also offer Skippered Motorboat Charter for those who want to enjoy a Solent sailing experience, but are not an experienced sailor. One of our professional skippers will sail you to the destinations of your choice along the south coast, including the Isle of Wight, the River Hamble and Lymington.
Others use Bareboat Motor Boat Charter to enjoy one of the many events that take place each year on or around the Solent. Please note that you will require a valid RYA Day Skipper Motorboat certificate in order to book a Bareboat Motor Boat Charter.
WHAT IS A MOTORBOAT?
28ft Axopar Boat - coded to carry 6 guests
The Axopar 28, is powered by a mercury V8 300 HP out board and blow thruster. It is coded for 6 and can overnight 4, with a dedicated cabin for 2, separate heads compartment.
35ft Bavaria Sports Boat – coded to carry 8 guests
The Bavaria 35 sports cruiser, is powered by 2 economical Volvo D6’s with Bravo 2 outdrives as well as a bow thruster. This makes manoeuvring very easy and an easy cross over from outboard engines for our Powerboat level 2 students. It is MCA coded for 8, sleeping 4 in comfort in 2 cabins.
38ft Beneteau Boat - coded to carry 7 guests
The Beneteau GT38 is powered by 2 Volvo Penta D4 260 HP engines. It is coded for 7 plus a skipper. It has a stereo system and sun roof so you can enjoy a party in the sunshine or have protection from the weather.
60ft Princess F57 Boat – coded to carry 12 guests
The Princess F57 is powered by 2 D12 Volvo Penta 480 per side HP engines. It is coded for 12 plus 2 crew. This boat has spacious interior and exterior areas so all weathers are catered for. As well as a multi-zoned stereo system.
WHO IS THE CHARTER FOR?
If you would like to be able to bareboat charter, but don't yet have the required qualifications or experience, we also offer a wide range of RYA shorebased and practical courses.
WHAT DOES THE CHARTER COST?
Bareboat Charter prices are quoted from our base at Saxon Wharf Marina Southampton and are exclusive of VAT and fuel. We can arrange for delivery and collection anywhere in the Solent and the UK. Please phone or email for further information on bespoke packages. The boat will come fully fuelled, therefore we charge at the current MDL pump prices for any fuel consumed.

Weekend: Saturday 0900 – Sunday 1600
Weekend day: 0900 – 1700
Bank Holiday weekend: Saturday 0900 – Monday 1600
Mid week: Monday 0900 – Friday 1600
Mid week day: Monday – Friday 0900 – 1700

*Dependant on skippers experience and qualifications, all new charters will be required to take a skipper for the first day of there bare boat charter. This is a requirement by our bare boat insurance policy.
